The Scituate Historical Society invites you our Annual Dinner!
Saturday, February 11, 2023
Harbor United Methodist Church
55 First Parish Road, Scituate • 6:00 pm
Full turkey dinner, with special guest and speaker Robine Andrau
Scituate resident and author, Robine Andrau will share her family’s story through her memoir/biography “Bowing to the Emperor: We Were Captives in WWII.” During WWII more than 10,000 women and children were civilian prisoners held in Japanese concentration camps. Among these mostly Dutch prisoners were the Andrau Family. Through fierce determination and courage the family survives several years of separation as they fight starvation, brutality, and horrendous living conditions.
“Bowing to the Emperor” is an incredible story of courage, survival and strength.
Scituate historical society members will get first preference for reservations during the first two weeks of January.
