A Tour of the Glades

And the Sea Shall Have Them All

The Scituate Historical Society invites you our Annual Dinner!

Saturday, February 11, 2023
Harbor United Methodist Church
55 First Parish Road, Scituate • 6:00 pm

Full turkey dinner, with special guest and speaker Robine Andrau

Scituate resident and author, Robine Andrau will share her family’s story through her memoir/biography “Bowing to the Emperor: We Were Captives in WWII.”  During WWII more than 10,000 women and children were civilian prisoners held in Japanese concentration camps.  Among these mostly Dutch prisoners were the Andrau Family.  Through fierce determination and courage the family survives several years of separation as they fight starvation, brutality, and horrendous living conditions.

“Bowing to the Emperor” is an incredible story of courage, survival and strength.

Scituate historical society members will get first preference for reservations during the first two weeks of January.

Tickets for this event are:

  • $25.00 per person for Society members (Reservations available starting January 1, 2023)
  • $30.00 per person for non-members (Reservations available for non-members starting January 15, 2023.  If you would like to make reservations before then, you can opt to purchase a membership and a Society member reservation.)
