The Scituate Historical Society invites you to our Annual Dinner on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Harbor United Methodist Church at 6:30 pm.
Enjoy a full turkey dinner, with special guest and speaker Don Wilding, journalist and author, who will share stories from his book “Cape Cod and the Portland Gale of 1898.”
Tickets for this event are:
- $25.00 per person for Society members
- $30.00 per person for non-members

Alternately, reservations may be made in person at The Schoolhouse, 43 Cudworth Rd, when we reopen in February (February 6, 8 or 9, 2024).
Scituate Historical Society Members will get first preference for reservations during the first two weeks of January.
About our Guest Speaker: Since the start of the millennium, Don Wilding has been telling stories of Cape Cod Outer Beach history. An award-winning writer and editor for Massachusetts newspapers for thirty-six years, Don is the author of four books on Cape Cod history: “Shipwrecks of Cape Cod: Stories of Tragedy and Triumph,” “Cape Cod and The Portland Gale of 1898,” “A Brief History of Eastham,” and “Henry Beston’s Cape Cod.” He has worked as a tour guide and leads history walks for the Harwich Conservation Trust at Cape Cod National Seashore.
Don has worked as a Cape tour guide and is a regular speaker on Cape Cod lore in Massachusetts and across New England.
